Who are we?

Lean Further is an association founded in 2020 by current students and alumni of the London School of Economics and Political Science. We aim to create and uphold a network of like-minded ambitious women who are inspired to support and empower each other, by facilitating mentorship as well as friendship.

Our members have experience with a wide range of industries and companies such as McKinsey, Amazon, Salesforce, JP Morgan, Google, Deloitte, Boston Consulting Group, L'Oréal, and much more : our goal is to welcome women with as wide a range of paths and industries as possible. There is no typical profile of the Lean Further woman, beyond the core qualities of ambition, drive and willingness to give back.

When you become a member, you become part of a close-knit community which, we hope, will accompany you at all stages of your career and life. Follow the link below to learn more about how to get involved.

Our activities range from events such as workshops and conferences, to a podcast and a book review, as well as networking and social opportunities. Many of these activities are available to the public, and some are exclusively for members. Follow our social media to stay tuned! We hope you are as excited as we are about the project of growing this community.

Don’t hesitate to message us with questions and thoughts – or make the most of the chatbox on this site! We always love to hear from you.

FAQ

About Us: FAQ

What is Lean Further?

Lean Further is a network of like-minded, ambitious women inspired to help support women by sharing our experiences, holding events, and creating opportunities to empower each other in ways that are tailored by women, for women.

What is the mission of Lean Further?

This community's mission is to empower current and future generations of female leaders. The community will fulfill its mission through distinctive programs that are accessible by both members and non-members, providing women in a wide range of industries with additional tools and a network to support them in achieving their goals.

Who can become a member, and how?

Membership is aimed at female students and alumni of LSE, but our plan is to go beyond LSE eventually. Our membership process rests on member referrals and interviews. Members can apply directly to become a member to get fast-tracked as a mentee through the mentorship scheme.

If you are interested, reach out to a member or the Lean Further team directly!

What is the difference between a member and non-member?

A lot of our resources are available to all. In particular, our podcast and book reviews are a great place to start if you are interested in what we do. Many of our events will also be open to non-members. However, becoming a member has a huge value added as you become part of the community, get access to more resources, as well as our mentorship scheme and networking opportunities. Essentially, as a non-member you are welcome to make the most of our resources, but as a member you get the support of our network and you get a say in what we do.

How can I stay informed of what events are coming up?

To stay informed about everything we do, from new podcast episodes to book reviews and upcoming events, follow us on social media. We are particularly active on Instagram (@lean_further), and you can also follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn. We also plan to create a non-member specific newsletter for non-members who wish to receive updates about upcoming events by email.
